We know that nothing can replace your lovely daughter but at least she is in very good hands, shining next to the great Haitian queen, Anacaona. For thousands of years, the Great Spirit has watched over our ancestors and I pray that he continues to watch over your daughter and your family. We will continue to hold you and your family in our prayers. The legacy and face of your lovely daughter will not be forgotten!
I call upon all Haitians (those living in and outside of Haiti) to take a stand against this madness: The kidnappings, the killings of other Haitians. Is this the kind of image we want to project onto the international media? Is this what we want Haitians to be known for? I wonder what our ancestors would think of us if they were still living today? There is no doubt in my mind that they would be filled with disappointed!
Let us be reminded why our ancestors died. They died for freedom, our freedom. If we think they gave their lives so that today we could hate and kill one another, we could not be more wrong! I am begging you to stop the killings for our country's sake! Stop the division for our ancestors'
sake! Haitians alone are responsible for the condition of Haiti and only Haitians can change it. Our future is not predetermined, but is in our own hands. Let us work together and make Haiti once again "The Pearl of the Caribbean". To the Haitians who always so often claim that they are proud to be Haitian, or that they are Haitian to the bone, or that they are 100% Haitian, or that mwen se Aysien natif natal, it is time for you to stop talking and to show your love for Haiti through actions. Remember that actions speak louder than words, and that it is our love for Haiti that makes us Haitians.
Natasha Farah Kerbie Dessources, you are one of the flowers of Haiti and as you follow the sunset, may Zemi welcome your young and innocent soul, and may your pure spirit shine among the heavenly constellations from which your ancestors, our ancestors, came from.
